Cadillac Repair & Service in Dubai
Escalade, V-Series and Blackwing — GM V8s, 10-speed automatics and Magnetic Ride Control diagnosed from data
Most Cadillacs on UAE roads are one of two cars: the Escalade, with GM’s 6.2 V8, a 10-speed automatic and Magnetic Ride Control, or a V-Series sedan (CTS-V, CT5-V, CT4-V Blackwing) with a supercharged 6.2 or a twin-turbo 3.6 V6. Both share GM’s engineering, which gives us a well-documented set of known issues.
Bella Motor is an independent workshop. We are not a Cadillac dealer and not authorised by Cadillac or General Motors.

6.2 V8 and cylinder deactivation
Escalade V8s (L86, then L87) use Active or Dynamic Fuel Management: some cylinders are switched off at cruise through special lifters. A lifter that collapses or sticks causes a persistent tick, a misfire and, if ignored, camshaft damage. We confirm it with misfire data and inspection before quoting a lifter replacement.
10-speed and 8-speed automatics
The 10L80 (Escalade) and 10L90 (CT5-V Blackwing) are generally robust. The earlier 8L90 (CTS-V) is known for torque-converter shudder at light throttle. On many cars it is resolved by a fluid exchange with the updated fluid specification. We test before deciding.
Magnetic Ride Control
Magnetic dampers adjust within milliseconds using a fluid that changes viscosity in a magnetic field. They do not leak like conventional dampers but can fail electrically or physically. We read damper circuit data and check for leaks before replacing them.
Supercharged V8 (CTS-V, CT5-V Blackwing)
The LT4 6.2 supercharged V8 makes significant heat. Intercooler pump and coolant condition matter in Dubai. A rattle at idle can come from the supercharger isolator. Track use needs brake fluid and pad choices to match.
Electrics and AC
Large cabins, heated and cooled seats and big infotainment systems load the electrical system and AC. Battery and charging checks come first in electrical diagnosis.
What we check
- Lifter tick and misfire on AFM/DFM V8s
- 8L90 shudder / 10-speed shift data
- Magnetic Ride damper circuits
- Intercooler pump and cooling on supercharged V8
- AC performance on Escalade
- Battery and charging

Questions
My Escalade ticks and shows a misfire. Is it the lifters?
On AFM/DFM V8s, a collapsed or sticking lifter is a common cause. We confirm with misfire data and inspection. If confirmed, the lifters should be replaced before the camshaft is damaged.
My CTS-V shudders at light throttle. Why?
The 8L90 torque converter can shudder. A fluid exchange with the updated fluid often resolves it. We test before deciding on any further work.
Do Magnetic Ride dampers leak?
They can, but more often they fail electrically. We check the circuits and inspect before replacement.
Do you work on Blackwings?
Yes — servicing, brakes, track preparation, paint and protection.
Are you a Cadillac dealer?
No. Bella Motor is an independent workshop, not affiliated with or authorised by Cadillac or General Motors.
